At a Canada Day ceremony in Ottawa, Gov. Gen. Mary Simon invested five individuals into the Order of Canada: actor Ryan Reynolds; musicians Heather Rankin and Deantha Rae Edmunds; sportscaster Scott Oake; and writer Kim Th煤y Ly Thanh. Vancouver-born Reynolds is known for playing the Marvel character Deadpool and for several business ventures, including co-ownership of the U.K.鈥檚 Wrexham Football Club. (July 2, 2025)
