A closer look at the legacy of former prime minister Brian Mulroney

OTTAWA - Former prime minister Brian Mulroney died on Feb. 29, in Palm Beach, Fla., at the age of 84. He was first elected in 1984 following the largest majority mandate in Canada's history, and was re-elected in 1988.

On Monday, members of Parliament and federal party leaders offered their tributes to the late leader. His state funeral is to be held in Montreal on March 23.
