Ottawa police are investigating the death of a young woman who was found in a park on the shore of the Ottawa River on Sunday.Â
The Indian High Commission in Ottawa has identified her as a student from India, saying she went missing several days before her body was found.Â
Ottawa police say they won't provide any personal information about the woman while the circumstances of her death are under investigation.Â
A spokesperson for the force would only say that the woman was in her 20s and that she was found dead at Dick Bell Park on Carling Avenue in Ottawa.Â
The High Commission says in a social media post that it was "deeply saddened" to learn of the student's death and that it is in close contact with her family and local community associations.
It had previously shared links to letters from the local Hindu community urging Ottawa police to investigate the student's disappearance.
