Halifax-area RCMP say a 39-year-old man faces charges after he allegedly made hate-motivated threats at a business in Lower Sackville.

The Mounties say they received a report on Jan. 24 that a man had defaced a Pride flag at a business on Sackville Drive and uttered threats at employees and the LGBTQ community.

Police say the man returned to the business the next day and made additional threats.

An arrest was made Friday at a home on Smokey Drive in Lower Sackville and police say search warrants were carried out at two residences linked to the man.

A pellet gun, two handguns and three long guns were seized.

Police say the man is scheduled to appear in Dartmouth provincial Court Feb. 28 to face charges of mischief and uttering threats.
